Do you purchase store brands?
I find store brands are a great way to save money on products that you do not need to be brand specific. I realize we all have our favorite brands for some items, but other items, especially single ingredient products do not matter as much to me. In addition, with the rising gas prices, I am more willing to try store brands.
Stop & Shop is celebrating their revamped Guaranteed Value product line and sent me a Snow Day Survival Pack to check it out. Though at this point it is hard to imagine a snow day, one never knows when you need to be prepared to stay in and feed the family.
The products are packaged with bright, energetic orange and white making them easy to locate. I appreciate this as some stores try to copy brand packaging and trick you into buying them. We should want to buy them on their own merits and not grab them by mistake. They have over over 200 products which cost an average of 20-25% less than most national brands. You will see them in snack foods, canned goods and even pet treats. With 60% of the products priced under $2, that is a lot of potential savings.
The cereal tasted just like the national brand to me and I am making pasta with the pasta sauce tonight for dinner.

I will use almost anything store brand unless i have a coupon and it get a better deal. But i will use store brand butter, pasta, spices, almost anything.
I’ll buy pretty much anything store brand, unless there is a sale & coupon that gives me a better deal. Also, I have yet to find a store brand mac & cheese that lives up to Kraft or Annie’s.
Everything else is fair game, and usually tastes just as good to me!
Always store brand on baking items and some spices. Store brand version of some cereals to. My kids don’t ask for Cinammon Life, they ask for “Toasty Cinammon Squares”.
