Rite Aid Update & Sharpies deal

UPDATE: THERE IS A LIMIT to the number of +UPR that will print per transaction – THOUGH I DO NOT BELIEVE WE SHOULD BE GOING NUTS ANYWAY – but no more than around 20 – 24 individual +UPR or the computer goes kerplooie and none will print.

I headed to Rite Aid this morning to pick up a few things.  NOTE I said a few things – I did not head out to clear shelves or be a rude, crude, crazy couponer (more on that later…).  Anyway, wanted to let you know a couple of things…

The Sharpies deal is BACK!!  I am so excited because I missed it last time.  Sharpies are on sale BOGO 50% and $5 +UPR wyb $15. In addition, the $8.99 Sharpie packs are producing a $4 +UPR.  I have no idea if/when then $4 +UPR stops or if it is monthly.  This is what I got:

2 Sharpie 8pk (with BONUS 8pk :) ) $8.99 BOGO 50% = $13.48
1 Sharpie single $1.99 (mine was $1.59 w/ 20% wellness discount)
total = $15.47 ($15.07), got $5 +UPR and (2) $4 +UPR = $2.47 for 17 Sharpies!

On the food deals, my store had all the products marked that get the $1 +UPR each.  Though I did have confirmation that the Hunts sauce DID produce it, it was NOT MARKED in my store and alas DID NOT PRINT.  I still got 2 pasta and 2 sauce for $2 after +UPR – not a bad deal.  Both of my stores had NO BARILLA PASTA other than these 2.

I did not buy the Hormel Compleats, but some readers have commented that they did not get any +UPR at all, others have.  I have also had a reader not get any +UPR for anything.  SO I am guessing there may be some computer glitches out there or they may be updating the system.  We will have to wait and see.

Though I did not get any yet, I have not seen any issues with multiple MotrinPM or Tylenol Precise printing.

Create your own Rite Aid shopping list HERE and I will continue to update as I get them.

Love the Sharpie deal. I made a photo mug with the class picture on it (SeeHere deal) and filled the mug with Sharpies for my daughter’s teachers.

      Carrie,
I’m also looking for ideas like this- this is REALLY cool! I’m a teacher with a Sharpie addiction and LOVE this idea!

Lynn, thanks for this great Sharpie deal! I hope it works for me on my way home from school tomorrow!

Hey there, I just wanted to let you know that the reason that someone didn’t get any rewards may have been because they tried to get to many at once. There is a limit, no one knows for sure what it is but it is between 22-29. Not the $ amount but the actual amount of Ups printing. I have seen reports that when that happens a glitch keeps them from printing all together. I always try to keep my transactions to printing a limit of 20 at a time. :)

    • Lynn says:

good point Aubrey – I totally forgot about that!

      • Kent says:

We were thinking that the UP’s limit is 24, 26, or 28. We did several transactions last night with 12 Hormel completes. Printed 24 $1 UP’s.
As far as which items are giving the extra $1 up, it worked for the Hormel Complete, Barilla, & Oberto’s. It did not work on the Hunt’s sauce, Simply Asia, BB tuna can.

  3. Pebbles says:

    Motrin…bought 4 got (4 – 2 up rewards), Tylenol Precise Cream…bought
4 got (4 – 3.00 up rewards). All in one transaction. The Special K….bought
    4 (b1g1f, use b1g1f coupon) All 4 free and got (4 – 1.00 up rewards).

Also 4.00 off pellies on Blink Tears.

  4. Becky says:

I am hoping to get out tomorrow and do this. I am so sick today even getting the coupons together is going to be a stretch. You did perk my interest with the crazy couponing comment. What is up?

  5. Carol says:

    OMG…Talk about a pain.
I went to Rite Aid this AM and did not get any up reward printed for my order. Not even one.
The manager was nice enough to give me a gift card for the up reward, but I did not get any of the$1 up for the food since it was not marked on his store. That means I didn’t get $20 in up rewards. I am really sad :-(
I had no idea that was a limit in up rewards in one transaction.

  6. Nicole says:

    This morning I did:
4 Special K cereal- On sale BOGO, used 2 BOGO coupons. AND they printed 1 UPR each.

1 Hormel with VV and printable coupon, got 1 UPR

Emergen C Pink lemonade flavor, on sale BOGO and used (2) $1/1, and got 2 UPR ( and one of the coupons took off $1.6o instead of $1 and the cashier was just like “whatever…”)

The boyfriend also threw beef jerkey and a starbucks double shot espresso drink in the basket, and one of these printed out 1 UPR.
Total OOP=$14.42 and got $8 UPR for about $50 of stuff.

  7. julies says:

i bought 8 hormels, 6 packs of stayfree pads, 2 motrin pm and 2 tylenol precise, 4 special k and got NOTHING!! I didn’t even know about the extra $1 up with the hormels so that is what send me over the edge. Not a big transaction at all but when you don’t know what extra UP’s are printing it makes it hard to stay under the threshold (shall we call it). Not a good day at all and the asst manager was pretty pissy about it. Just gave me a gift card, so I lost out on all the extra up’s from the special k and hormel that others were getting.

  8. Janet says:

Went to Rite Aid today, got 4 Special K, 2 Tylenol Precise and 2 Hormel, using coupons, ad perks and some Up Reward, paid $1.08 out of pocket and ended up with $14.00 in new Up Rewards. Good Day!!!

  9. Bonnie says:

Thanks for the sharpie deal! I was a little worried if it would really work, esp. with the 2 extra $4 coupons, but I did it today and worked perfectly! Thanks so much for your work! I would never be able to find all these deals on my own. :)

  10. lori says:

Is the sharpie deal advertised in this weeks ad?

  11. lori says:

Thank you Lynn. The sharpie deal worked perfectly. I bought exactly what you did and got $5 + $4 + $4 in cats. :-)
