You would not believe what I saw as I tuned into my local news last night.
TARGET NOT GIVING SHOPPERS FULL CREDIT FOR COUPONS!
Now I HATE how they tell you what stories are coming as if they are coming right up – WRONG!! I could barely keep my eyes open waiting for this one. BUT you know I just had to find out the scoop.
Paula Ebben did a story about a woman who had given a $4/10 Smart Ones coupon and the register only took off $1.99. So they went to 3 Boston area Target stores and had similar issues. I guess it has been reported all over the country.
Target Corporate told them: “We have been made aware that some coupons used by Target guests are not scanning for the full amount. We are working on a fix for this issue.”
Until they have the problem fixed, Target has said they will happily correct any mistakes, even if you don’t notice until you get home. Simply bring the receipt back to the store and Target will refund the full amount of the coupon.
Keep in mind that Target is NOT doing this intentionally – there is a glitch in their system which they absolutely NEED to fix, but they were/are not purposely trying to rip off consumers.
So the moral of the story…
CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!!
