Yodel Bug Giveaway!

by Lynn on March 12, 2010

Giveaway has ENDED
I am so excited to introduce Yodel Bug to you!
I just love the name – it is fun to say… go ahead, say it a few times and tell me you are not smiling!

The inspiration for Yodel Bug came from one mother, who decided to create fun, vibrant art for her two kids. One painting led to another, and an online gallery shop of her work was created in hopes that others would enjoy the art.

The art on Yodel Bug is meant to spark the imagination of kids, as well as grown-ups. We believe that art inspires youth and helps them to discover their own sense of creativity and ingenuity.

The art is simply amazing… and so FUN!

Heather Knopf, a former Bostonian (WOO HOO!) launched Yodel Bug in December of 2009.  When she moved to Philadelphia, she could not find reasonably priced art to decorate her children’s room.  So what did this this former marketing major who painted since she was 8 do?  She painted them herself!

The images are joyous in their simplicity.  These fantastically vibrant pieces are now available for all of us to enjoy.  The art is printed with premium pigment inks on archival paper and canvas.  This printing procedure (sometimes referred to as a giclee) preserves the quality and longevity of each art piece.  Quality and integrity of color is very important to Heather.

I LOVE the art, but I also love the fact that 10% of Yodel Bug’s profits are donated to support art and literacy based initiatives for children.  As a mother of two, giving back to children’s causes is important to Heather and some of the organizations she is interested in are:

  • www.firstbook.org – Provides new books to children in need.
  • www.reachoutandread.org – Makes literacy promotion a standard part of pediatric primary care, so that children grow up with books and a love of reading.
  • www.ltaf.org – The Life Through Art Foundation funds educational opportunities in the arts for underprivileged students and artists.
  • www.icaf.org – International Child Art Foundation strives to create a world that nurtures children’s innate creativity, fosters their intrinsic empathy, and includes children’s voices in any deliberation on the future.

Please check out those organizations as my brief description cannot even begin to share the value of their programs.

Yodel Bug prices are very reasonable ranging from $8 for decals to $75 for a large canvas – there is something for everyone.  Right now, Yodel Bug is having their Spring Sale so we get 15% off all prints and decals through 4/30/10.  BUT you can get an additional 5% back by rebate when you click on the link “Add special instructions” and enter Maven of Savin’.

I cannot wait to redecorate my children’s room. It is going to be a tough decision which ones to choose. Do you have a baby shower to go to – what a great gift! I also like this as a birthday gift – they are still fun (not clothes as my kids would say – LOL), but not adding to the toy overload.

Two lucky Maven of Savin’ readers will have a chance to WIN some of this awesome art courtesy of Yodel Bug!!
