How to Back-up your Blogger Blog

by Lynn on March 20, 2010

I know you non-bloggers will find this totally boring and are thinking why is she posting this?  BUT this is a BIG issue for bloggers using Google Blogger as their platform.  You need to protect your content in case Blogger decided to LOCK YOU OUT or pull your blog for whatever reason.

The SITSGirls have a fantastic post explaining what you need to do to Back-up your blog, but since some people are visual and I could not SEE what I was looking for at first, I am just adding pictures to help.

Go to your DASHBOARD and click on “Settings”
Under Basic you should see and click on EXPORT BLOG
Then just DOWNLOAD BLOG and SAVE it to your hard drive.

DO NOT FORGET to save your template regularly as well!

If you want to be SUPER DUPER SAFE – copy and paste your entire HTML code into a document.

Thanks SITSGirls for the instructions and letting us know how important this is in the first place!

NOW go back-up your blog and mark your calendars to do it regularly!!

Question- the last step the safest way – do I need to paste it into a special kind of document?

You can paste it right into a word doc or any text document.
