The smell of a newborn…
the smiles…
the gurgles…
the snuggles and unconditional love…

What more could we ask for?
A good deal, that is what!!

After the sheer JOY and awe of the birth of these little pieces of us, we realize that the diapers… and formula … and toys … and clothes … and did I say DIAPERS are an overwhelming expense at times.  I breast fed my children for the first 3-6 months, but then switched to formula.  Let’s just say HOLY COW – actually it must have been a HOLY COW or a GOLDEN COW that creates formula because it is SOOOO expensive.  Not that they are not worth it, of course.

Even though I am very happy she is drinking from the actual cow now, I realize there are many who are still chasing the ever elusive formula deals and I certainly am still in the diaper chase.  Luckily, Toys R Us just announced the debut of the Babies R Us brand infant care line.  It includes formula, diapers, wipes, detergent and more at much lower prices than comparable brands.  Boy I wish it had seen it a year ago!  There are many products where store brands are just as good as the name brands (understanding of course that some have allergies and reactions, etc, to certain brands).  Babies R Us is a reputable name that has been in the baby business for a long time and this may be a great way to get better value on items we just HAVE TO buy.

Right now at both Toys R Us and Babies R Us, the formula and diapers are on sale through February 20th!

  • Buy any 2 powdered formulas, get $5 gift card (in store ONLY!) – Babies R Us brand is priced at $12.99 – that would be $10.50 each after giftcard.
  • Babies R Us value boxes of diapers (reg. $24.99) 2/$35!

As an example, for size 4 diapers, Pampers (at Toys R Us) are $0.30/diaper.  BRU brand normally runs $0.25/diaper and with this sale is only $0.17/diaper.  Remember when comparing diaper prices, you really have to look at size and the per diaper cost.

Keep you eye out for coupons in weekly flyers.  Sometimes these can be paired with a sale for a really sweet deal!!
