Target has revised and re-published its “Low Price Promise” – price matching policy and it addresses a lot of questions we all have had. You can read and print out the entire policy online HERE.
I would print it out and carry it with you in case you run into an issue at a store. Keep in mind that all employees may not be completely familiar with the policy, so you may need to help them out. You should also print out and be familiar with Target’s Coupon Policy.
I apologize as it does state they do not price match “timed” events such as doorbusters. So they do have the right to refuse to price match the Leap Frop Alphabet Pal deal I posted.
A couple highlights of the policy:
- You must have the entire original printed advertisement you want matched.
- Target does not match coupon-required offers but guests can use Manufacturer or Target coupons when requesting a price match.
- The program ONLY covers items with the identical brand name, size, weight, quantity and model number of the item at Target stores.
- Online pricing will not be price matched – including their own online prices.
- Make sure you check out other exclusions (e.g., early bird, doorbusters).

This is really fantastic that Target corpotate is being clear online about their policies. It should make things much easier and consistent from store to store!
